Rev. Isaac Hayes Minister of Youth Discipleship and Outreach
Rev. Isaac E. Hayes was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago. Inspired by his grandfather’s pastoral leadership, Rev. Isaac developed a passion for ministry and social service. After obtaining a Master of Divinity degree from McCormick Theological Seminary, Rev. Isaac became licensed and ordained while serving as the youth pastor at South Suburban Missionary Baptist Church, Harvey, Illinois. Rev. Isaac believed in serving his community and pursued career paths that allowed him to marry his passion for social justice and ministry. He served as an instructor at Urban Prep Academy for Young Men, Program Manager at Healthy Families Chicago’s Post-Adoption/Guardianship Respite Program, and Co-Director of Off the Pews into the Streets- an initiative under the umbrella of United Church of Christ to address youth violence within urban communities. Additionally, he administered an Ex-offenders Mentorship Program for incarcerated young adults transitioning into society and rebuilding relationship with their children. Rev. Isaac has a strong passion for youth development, social justice, and faith formation within the classroom, local church, and community. Recently, Rev. Isaac has been called and appointed to serve as the Minister of Discipleship and Outreach at The Emmaus Community, Olympia Fields. He is the fiancé to his life partner, Sharika House and co-parent to his four-year-old son, EJ. In his quiet time, he enjoys making natural male scented candles and spending quality time with his family.
